Our operations are currently organized into two business segments: Global Markets and Investment Banking (GMI), and Global Wealth Management (GWM). GMI provides full service global markets origination products and services to corporate, institutional and government clients around the world. GWM creates and distributes investment products and services for individuals, small- and mid-size businesses, and employee benefit plans. We also provide a variety of research services on a global basis through Global Research. Our research analysts provide objective and decisive research designed to help clients make informed investment decisions.

Global Wealth Management (GWM)

Our Global Wealth Management group provides advice-based wealth management services and products to both individuals and businesses. Our wealth management advisory is grounded in our network of more than 16,700 Financial Advisors (FAs) in approximately 750 offices around the world and the one-to-one relationships they develop with their clients. Our Financial and Private Wealth Advisors serve the myriad of needs of high-net-worth individuals and small and mid-sized business owners. We consider every aspect of our clients’ financial lives, enabling us to become their essential partners – by providing wealth management advice, products and services.

We own a 45% voting interest and approximately half of the economic interest of BlackRock, which is one of the world’s largest publicly traded investment management firms with approximately $1.26 trillion in assets under management at the end of 2007. BlackRock manages assets on behalf of institutions and individuals worldwide through a variety of equity, fixed income, cash management, and alternative investment products.
